Introduction to EDM Modules
EDM modules are pluggable System on Modules (SoMs) that utilize an edge connector. There are two primary series: EDM Type G (EDM-G) and EDM Type 1 (EDM1).
EDM Type G (EDM-G)
EDM Type G modules utilize a standard 260-pin SO-DIMM connector (normally used for LPDDR4 SO-DIMMs).
Every EDM-G module is pin-to-pin compatible and incorporates an SOC, a power management IC (PMIC), RAM, e.MMC Flash, and a LAN PHY. It can optionally be purchased with a wireless module (802.11 AC/BT5.0 combo module).

EDM Type 1 (EDM1)
EDM Type 1 modules utilize an MXM-3 connector and are 82mm x 60mm in size. There are two main EDM Type 1 module products: EDM1-IMX6 and EDM-IMX8M.
